Update and sad news need advice

I’ve got some sad news if you’ve been keeping up with my threads you would of know and I got a pea puffer he had been doing fine eating sleeping everything good I have a 20 gallon filter for my 10 gallon tank this is not my fault my new filter broke so I couldn’t use the new one had do use the old one and I was worried about him getting sucked up to the greats

after about three weeks of having him I expected that not to happen today I found him stuck in the great I don’t know if he passed away then got stuck or just got stuck and then passed away but he cause he was doing fine it was probably the second option

I was going to get some more next week so he would have friends what’s your advice should I get some more and cover the great or get a Gourami cause I’ve been thinking about getting one as well

all right The latest thread that I put it was about my dog he’s still having some issues he is very very very on active like he usually is very active normally he walks faster than me now I walk way faster than him he normally sleeps a lot which is unlike him
He still will not get up on the bed he’s only got up on the bed a few times since that last thread normally he will sleep on the bed with me and constantly be on the bed with me I’m on the bed he’s on the bed
Not like that anymore
If you read my thread it goes into more depth

I also forgot to mention a few things he does have pancreatitis and it is currently hot where I live about 100° every day or more The house is normally at 80 which is pretty hot or 77 but even when it’s cool he still acts like this currently the house is probably about 72

he’s became very on active doesn’t greet me anymore doesn’t come up on the bed and has a shorter temper And kind of lost interest in toys he will still play if I play with him only for a little bit but I have to be the one to play first but he would always play first

so I’m going to make him a vet appointment for Monday

I’ve been crying a lot because people said it could be doggy dementia which is the worst outcome he doesn’t have all the symptoms just a quarter of them
He isn’t getting stuck behind objects isn’t circling isn’t barking at nothing he’s actually not barking at all but he barks a lot normally but he is hiding more often
He still eats and drinks with treats he still does tricks but he still does not greet me and get happy when I come home

so I just don’t know what’s wrong with him maybe it’s because I stop spending as much time with him

used to go on walks it’s just too hot now

could be the heat I don’t know could be his pancreatitis I don’t know this is been going on for three weeks so I don’t think it’s either of those things

Picture of him I took today

I'm very sorry to hear your puffer got stuck in the filter. I also hope your dog is able to feel better. I understand how tough it is when our animal friends aren't doing well, please don't blame yourself. Unfortunately things sometimes happen no matter how much we do for them. Continue to be there for your beautiful buddy. Best wishes to both of you.

Sorry to hear about your doggie. I hope the vet can get him sorted out. He is obviously not feeling well with the way he is acting. Try to keep him cool and comfortable, and just let him relax until you can get him to the vet. If he likes water, you can give him a very shallow bin or kiddie pool with a little cool water in it for him to lay in and cool off and relax. Don't force him into it though.

As for the fish, it's sad you lost your wee pea puffer. If you want to get more pea puffers or gourami, you will need a different filter. A 20 gallon filter in a 10 gallon tank is too strong for either type of fish. Both prefer low flow. You could get a cheap sponge filter that would be sufficient for either one though. You could do one dwarf gourami, or one sunset thick lip gourami, or one honey gourami.

Sending hugs and well wishes your way!

I’m sorry to hear about your pup. I understand how difficult that must be. Know that you are doing everything you can and you sound like a wonderful dog owner.
As for the fish, I would switch to a sponge filter they assure that no small nano fish get stuck. Or you can get a pre filter intake sponge to cover any grates- I’ve done both. You can get some more pea puffers if you’d like or a dwarf or honey gourami with some Pygmy Cory’s (just an example of what you could do with a ten gallon). Sending good vibes your way

Thanks so much

that’s what I wanted to do in the beginning just a Gourami and some pygmies for i am huge Corey Fan

But yeah we don’t know what it is it’s mainly targeted towards me it could be his pancreas flaring up making him less active and other things but he will be going to the vet soon to check up on him

Read your other thread and I'm glad you're making an appointment. Quite often if there's a change of behavior, they're not feeling well.
Let him go at his pace and see what the doctor advises.

It's so hard when you don't know what's going on and don't know what to do for them.
Best of luck. He's a cutie!

Hope your dog got to the vet and is doing better now. Did you decide what to do with your tank?
