Yes, leave him in at the bath dose, and make sure you have some kind of lid thay still allows for air flow

I used stretch tight with poked holes, I think he's doing pretty well, as he's swimming around.

Ok! I aged the water for a couple days so the pH should match, can I just put him in now then? I have a tub with a bumblebee catfish underneath with a sponge filter so I tied the two sponges together as to not lose my cycle, is that okay? I've had it for at least a year too, so it's not sick either. (It is the permanent home as it has a pretty large footprint which isis bigg than the bottom of a 20, but without the height, as it become very obese in the other tank...

Anyways, I can put him in then? It's his fasting day, should I feed him so that he has a little food before fasting for 3 more days?

Sorry I need so much reassuring, isit just so stressful to medicate fish...

I think all of that would be fine.

He is still pretty active, and it's the last day of the bath today! I just don't know whether or not it actually did anything. The bleeding part of his dorsal fin fell off, but I can't tell if there's regrowth or not.

Sorry the s are such bad quality, the phone camera wouldn't focus properly.

So glad to not see any more bleeding and good activity level!
Fins do take time to heal/regrow. All of your care and baths should have killed whatever was causing this so I would give him some time to destress and heal up in clean water. I am not sure if you have access to or have already tried driftwood or leaves, but the tannins from them have antimicrobial properties and are a very natural way to help heal and prevent infections.

I do have leaves in his main tank. I hope the fins only regrow a little, tbh. He's so much more active with short fins! I'm not sure if I see regrowth, but I'll probably update again super late/early in the morning when I put him back in! As for the heater, should I just rinse it off, and can I ever use it again for other tanks? What about that silk plant?

I know diluted bleach can be used safely if you are careful and is effective, but I have never done it myself. I usually pour hot (just under boiling) water over things thoroughly and call that good...

Oh hahaha, that's probably what I'll do too then! Is it possible that the rot will have stopped, but his fins won't grow back at all because of all the damage? It basically like like he's a plakat now.

it looks like he's got some regrowth to me. He's looking way better than your first posting. You saved this little guy. You should be proud.

I just put him back into his main tank and he's hiding, but he should come out pretty soon. It's so hard to tell whether or not he's much better because he's already clear, but I also thought I see some earlier on so I'm pet hopeful!

Does it look like regrowth to any of you? I feel like I can't judge accurately die to the fact that I'm constantly looking at him. He's also spent the past couple minutes pecking at some dying algae, is that normal?

There's a good chance the fins will grow back. I bought a plakat a while back, and after a few months, he had a massive long tail, lol. The lack of bleeding is a good sign, if you see clear edges to the fins within the next 4 days, that is a terrific sign!

Aww darn (about fins completely growing back.) The issue is, the dorsal fin still seems red, but the other ones don't. The other two fins have this thin white lining? I don't know what that means and the top fin is still bleeding on top of that.

The first pic is from, the other one was from roughly a week ago. Does he look any better? It feels like his tail is, but not any of the other fins.

I see less redness around the gills and red streaks right before the tail fin are gone now. Just watch to make sure his fins continue to regrow.

I was wondering about why his gills were so red, as it couldn't have been ammonia since my tank is cycled. Should I do paraguard baths as well or just daily water changes? Since his other two fins aren't improving, I don't want them to rot away.

Are the other ones continuing to rot or are they just staying the same?

I can't really tell, the top fin was bleeding two days ago and I can still see some clear rot areas, but the rest of them still have a super fine white lining that doesn't turn clear or fuzzy. I think his tail is slightly better, and his analfin is the same, but honestly the difference is so little and the progress/rot is so slow that it's hard for me to see when I'm checking up on him every day.

Take a picture or two today, wait two days, and company to how he looks then. Again, that's just my personal opinion, I like to give fish time between treatments.

I do take daily pictures and compare them every two days, but I just feel like he's not really improving at all. I think his tail has regrown a bit, is it normal for there to be a little bit of white/iridescent lining? That's what it looks like, which I also thought was tor, but it looks to also have a little bit of clear on the ends now. Sorry if I'm frustrating you guys without a clear response, but he just regrows or loses his fins so slowly.

Hey, no problem, don't apologise. I think that little bit of iridescence is fine, some bettas end up regrowing their fins a little warped/curled after finrot, I think that may be a possibility here. It's sort of like scar tissue.

Some times change in water temps makes their color fade (if colder) and then it comes back. I think he'll be fine now. Just keep his water clean.
Totally unrelated:

My all white beautiful shimmery "pearl" is changing colors. He's old and it some times happens especially w the white color... His tail is slowly turning blue and he has a large blue section starting on his body.

Yeah, he has stateds to have a few scales tm with some red or brown on them, but they're not really noticeable.
