Can unleveled tanks cost major problems?

Depends on the size and integrity of the tank, really. A ten gallon a few degrees off? Not a big deal as long as all 4 corners of the base are supported.

125 a few degrees off? Big deal.

My 10 and 30 gallon tanks have stands that don't hold them completely straight, and it's never caused any issues for me. Just make sure your stand is sturdy enough to support the weight of your tank 24/7. Depending on the size of the tank, if the water line is more than an inch or two off from one side to the other, you might want to consider leveling it. Otherwise it won't hurt filters or anything mechanical as it is.

Thanks for replying. Its a 50 gallon and I think its a little more than 2in or about 2 in I forgot and will check when I get off work. Do I have to empty out the tank to do the leveling?

If it's a 50 gallon and the difference is a mere 2 inches, there's no issue as long as your base is sturdy enough for it.
If it's really bugging you, I would wait a little longer until your next water change and then empty it out a little more than usual, fix it, then replace the water. try to contain as much additional water as you can, because it'll be really heavy. Each gallon of water weighs about 8.3 pounds, so even if you remove 20% of the water in the tank it'll be 332 pounds! (or 150 kg). Not worth it to me.

Thanks for replying and it don't bother me at all just wanted to make sure the tank won't bust or crack if I fill it up all the way.

House is old and unleveled just noticed my 29 gallon unleveled too but not as much as the 50. So its fine to leave them like that ?
