Please please be warned, there are deceased fish photos! Hi! I’m new to this site, and I’ve searched so many places looking for an answer, and still have not found one. I have a 30 gallon, cycled (0,0,5), largely planted, tank. I have 4 Cherry shrimp, one betta (extremely docile), 3 snails, and have had a total of 4 Albino corydoras. The first ones I got were from a local Petland, and within a week, one died. No signs of sickness, perfectly intact fins, no marks, just lethargic, couldn’t swim upright, and died. I thought he was just not strong enough to endure the tank change. Then, about 2 weeks later, another one developed fin rot (or so I thought). I left it be and increased water changes hoping it would make it better. Within 2 days after me quarantining him due to the lethargy, “fin rot”, and not being able to swim upright, he was dead and had a huge red patch of skin at the base of where his body stopped and tail started. I thought it was over, but my last cory was lonely, so I went to a more trusted store and got one more hoping he would turn out okay. Well, a week later, I see the “fin rot” happening AGAIN. I quarantined him and proceeded to treat with API Body & Fin treatment. Last night, he was perfectly okay, eating and swimming normally. Today I got home and he’s bent at a weird angle, with red eyes, a red spots on his head and stomach, and he’s dead. I have one left now, and he’s been the only one to power through whatever is killing them. I’m praying he doesn’t die, but I want to know what was killing them. Was it me? I suspected hemorrhagic septicemia after the fin rot, because there’s no way fin rot kills fish overnight, and I’ve never heard of it causing such bad red flesh like it did on my fish. I’ve pretty much given up on trying to get Corys, but I’m worried the last one will get lonely. What should I do? And what could this have been? Pictures below, first picture is the first fish that passed, second pic is the second fish that passed (be aware that the redness on the tail got much much brighter and worse overnight), and the rest of the pictures are of the most recent one. Also note that when the latest fish died, almost no fins remained! (Please excuse any grammatical errors! This was made somewhat quickly!)
