Agree, reminds me of the 80’s! Lol

 

I recognize it because my 56 yo butt still uses an undergravel filter in conjunction with my canister filter. Lol...but true.

Lol, not knocking it, they were the best!

 

As long as I vacuum it every other day and don't want live plants, it's a fully cycled filter that continues to run when I overhaul my canister filter. I've used them for over 30 years now and love them. I also never have to worry about anaerobic bacteria or methane in the gravel.
