Are there any rare or unique freshwater fish that will fit in a 13 Gallon tank comfortably? Or fish that you won't find in the average small tank? Thanks

You could try out some killfish. They're not something you're going to run into in most stores and many of them would be quite comfortable in a tank of that size.

    Dwarf puffers, maybe? :)

For schooling: Celestial Pearl Danios or Endlers. You can fit a good many in a smaller tank.

    Welcome to fishlore!
How about fish in the Indostomus genus? They'd work. I. crocodilus, I. paradoxus, and I. spinosus.
