HI everyone! Over in the aquarium builds section, I've been documenting my process of trying to turn a chair into an a little stand for a 15L (3.8 gal) tank.
I hit a roadblock because it turned out that the base of the chair was covered in glued-on foam that couldn't be easily removed. I managed to pick off most of it, but the surface is still a bit uneven with lots of soft bumps of foam.
Will this cause my tank to break? Is there anything I can do, e.g. put a rigid bit of wood under the actual tank?
ETA: I'm thinking of replacing the bit of wood with a new one, but I have no idea how to select and buy wood that's right for an aquarium. The hardware shop only sells MDF, or huge pieces of structural plywood that are like $50.
