Understanding the colours of my Rosybarb fry

Anyat

Hi I am new to this and don’t understand the genetics of barbs.
I have three rosy barbs in a backyard pond with various goldfish. At times they have Brilliant Red and brown colouring.
they have recently bred several batches of fry.
I don’t understand why some are yellow and some are brown? They all have tail spots.
photos aren’t that great due to pond reflection.

Most egg laying fish fry don't take their colors on fully until juveniles-adults so they can hide a bit better when they are tiny.

I'd say don't worry and give them time. If you only have rosy barbs, probably when adults the fry will look like rosy barbs also.

Thankyou ! So weird to see the bright yellow ones!
Are rosy barbs and golden barbs the same species ? Can a rosy barb produce a golden Rosybarb?
