Ummmm... Molting Shrimp?

Hi! In my Betta fish tank I have two shrimp(one Amano and one yellow/gold something or other). They haven't even been in the tank for a half a day yet and the Amano just molted. Is this normal? Should I be worried? Are there any precautions I should take now that she has molted? This is my first time caring for any type of shrimp... so I really have no idea what to do! Help, please! Thanks.

Molting is a natural process for shrimp. It means they're growing and that they're healthy. There shouldn't be anything to worry about!

Molting is indeed natural. Seems like moving tends to trigger molting as well but I might be imagining it. Anyway, make sure the shrimp have a place to hide after they molt. They''ll be slightly "softer" after they molt so they may be more skittish then normal the first couple days. Honestly shrimp should always have a place to hide, especially if they're with fish.
Other then that, shrimp can eat their own molts because there's still a lot of nutrients in them. If yours don't, try and remove the molt after the first day so it doesn't rot. Not the end of the world if you can't find it though.

Thanks! Would my Betts fish try to eat the molded skin?

Bettas might try to eat it, but they probably won’t actually eat it. Usually the shrimp eats it to gain any lost nutrients, but that doesn’t always happen.
