Ulcer In Fish

HI after I had one problem with diseases successfully solved and now I have another one of my rainbowfish that I am quarantining




Could it be fish TB or mycobacterium and if it is how do I dispose the fish if it dies (which I think there’s no cure) but I don’t know at this point. Thanks!

 

This could be a result of above average nitrite levels

It sounds like you've been thru a lot lately. I wouldn't jump to mycobacterium or TB. Testing the water is your first step, correct it if it's off, and keep the QT as clean as possible. Could be an injury.

Just to let you know, I meant clean by keeping the filter media rinsed of brown guck, siphoning the substrate and daily or bi-daily water changes for a week or two.

 

I do once every other day and the rainbow fish seems to be healing well, I’ll rinse my filter today

Great to hear they are healing nicely I also don't mean rinse too much and rinse in old tank water to preserve as much beneficial bacteria as possible, while removing organic decomposition like brown gunk.

Beautiful fish. Glad to hear he's doing better. He'd probably benefit from a salt bath as well. I'll just post this here because I'm lazy, but maybe it will be useful. Good luck!
