I am using this to try walstad method:

It is peat free and organic.

Does anyone know if this should be okay? :p

I can't find anything anyone has recommended online. They sell this in tesco btw. 25L for £4.

As long as it's capped with sand or a fine gravel, to keep the mix from leaching into the water, it should be fine. Once you plant it, I would give it a few weeks, before you add any fish or invertebrates, to allow the plants to grow in and any volatiles in the water to be removed

Cool thanks. I have like a 130L (33gish) pond tub I want to put outside to have wild things to harvest for food. I wanted to try this in there too. Like 1 inch dirt, .75 inch sand/gravel to cap. Maybe loads of egeria.

I am thinking of harvesting more Grammarus Pulex from a river nearby again and letting them breed. Hoping to get a load of bloodworm, damselfly, daphnia etc :)
