Uggg Dollar Per Gallon And My Fish Girl

So...as many of you know I have 2500 gallons worth of tanks at the house plus another 1000 or so in sumps. I shy away from HOBs because well I'm a sump guy and I keep cichlids. However I do have several Emperor 400s that I run on a water volume just for QT and I have bags and bags of media in my various sumps.

So I roll into petco yesterday after picking up my new Tiger Oscar last week (his name is Todd as in the Wraith from Stargate Atlantis). Low and behold there's a dollar per gallon sale going on and fish girl (name used to protect the not innovent) says "oh heyyyy Mr B! I have 4 Texas Cichlids and you said you'd love em if I ever get them"

So....bought all their anubias and java fern and Amazon sword. Bought a 40 breeder and a sweet little LED. And I got the Texas Cichlids and I got my future step daughter a blue lobster (look honey hes cool...pay no attention to 2540 gallons of tanks)

Popped some rocks from my collection (free), some pool filter sand ($10 from ocean state), and a spare heater and the Emperor for now.

Yes I'm aware I have MTS.

 

I was reading and the "hey is that anubias brightened my day.

 

But who can complain about an itty bitty 40 gallon tank compared to what you already have

hehe she wasn't too upset cause she says the Texas Cichlids are cute. Blue Lobster is in another tank ill take a shot.

This would so be me if:
1. I could afford it.
2. I had a vehicle to go to the fish store (we have 2 but boys take the to work).
3. I had any more room to put fish tanks.
4. I didn't have this horrible back making maintenance excruciating for me, necessitating the need for my son's help, who hates me, and hates my "stupid fish," that he has to help me with every Tuesday already. Today is fish day, and I worked till 6 am, and my son was up till 6:40 am, at which time he promptly went to bed so he did not have to help me, so now I have to do it in shifts, 5 minutes up, 5 minutes sitting, 5 minutes up, etc., and somehow start/stop the python by myself from 3 rooms away. GRRRRRRRR. I need to hire a fish guy.
