Two Filters? Marineland bio-wheel and aqueon quiet wheel

I just ordered a marineland bio wheel filter for my 20 gallon aquarium. I was considering running this with my current aqueon quiet wheel for added filtration. What do you think? Are two filters better than one, or should I just get a more powerful single filter?

Two filters are definitely better than one. All of my tanks are over filtered and have no problems.

What about water movement? I am considering getting a dwarf gourami but they like still water I thought

On my tanks 20 gallons and over, I always use two filters. If one goes down, I'm still okay until I can replace the failure.

It will be okay. My DG is in a tank with excellent water movement.

That's what I was thinking; redundancy.

If the movement stresses the fish you can always turn down the flow rate on the filter or add a sponge to the output to slow the flow.

What kind of a sponge do I use?

I would recommend a more coarse filter, not a super fine one if you're putting it in a hob. Fine ones plug a lot. I think the bio wheel filter comes with a filter pad. Which is probably a fairly fine one. You can usually get sponge media at any chain store or fish supply place. Brand doesn't really matter unless you want to pay more for a name.
