I have to assume this is normal because it doesn’t look “unhealthy.” I’ve had this guy for about 8 months And his tail has always been practically nonexistent. But I just got a good look at him and saw that he has a new appendage... Is this just a sign that he is maturing?

Looks like his caudal is damaged. The extension is normal and will grow with age, there should be one on the bottom too.

Thanks for the reply. It is strange. He has never had either extension. Just the little nub. Hopefully he’ll get the lower part as well.

It will take time, however both extensions will likely have the shape deformity the tail itself does.
