Tumor on new betta

I bought this guy today with a big honkin tumor on his head! The store said he'd been there six months. The cup he was in had 4ppm ammonia. He acts normal. Never had a tumor on a fish and I know I can't do anything about it. I intend to care for him the same as my other many bettas. Any thoughts on his tumor?

I've seen that a lot of bettas just have tumors, especially if they are dragonscale or marble bettas. Does it seem to affect his movement or eyesight at all?

He is getting around great so far.

I don't think it is a problem then. I would keep a close eye on it to make sure it's not a boil or parasite under his skin.

As Forestwind said a lot of bettas just develop tumors, it's the sad result from all the inbreeding they've been through. There's no way to 'cure' it or slow down it's growth or anything. The best you can do is make sure it isn't affecting his quality of life. There is a chance it could burst in the future- if that happens just treat it like any other wound.
