Tubifex worms cube

So I started to feed my 4.5 inches Senegal Bichir those Tubifex Worms Cubes which I break into smaller pieces with my fingernail. He seem to love it but most of the time when the pieces hit the surface my other fishes tear it all up as oppose to the Bichir's way of eating-swallowing it whole. And the tiny worms from the cube just floats everywhere and pollutes the water. I do have Cory Catfishes doing their job at the bottom but I'm afraid it may not be enough. Is there an alternative to the Tubifex Worm Cube?

HikarI supplies those cubes as well. I put mine in a little bowl dedicated for my fish food,,,with warm water, breaking up the cube as the cube swells. I then take a syringe and suck up the worms and inject them into the tank. I inject just a little at a time so that everyone gets some so that what you are experiencing doesn't happen. The syringes, you can get from CVS at the pharmacy. I got a handful for free. If I have middle feeders, I inject with a little more force as to make sure the worms get forced to the middle quicker. I have Rainbow fish..so I have to try a little harder to get it to the middle fish as the Rainbows are FAST eaters

I would say if you feed these things, feed them sparingly as a treat food. They aren't as nutritious as frozen bloodworms, brine and mysis shrimp. And fish love bloodworms just as much as they do the tubifex ones. Plus the bloodworms don't make as big of a mess in your tank. You can get freeze dried bloodworms too but make sure you soak them before you feed and realize they are not as nutritious as frozen.

As a side note, my angel also likes freeze dried gammarus as an occasional treat.

Ya know..you would think that HikarI wouldn't sell this garbage. I would have thought that coming from them that it would be safe. I guess overseas they raise them in pig poop and we raise them in human feces. NICE!! THATs what I wanna feed my fish. Well..there is another few dollars in the trash!
