Tss In Nano Tank Went Terribly Wrong- Eek!

(some background info)
aquarium: 4.1 gallon
inhabitants: 1 female betta
*I set it up and allowed the filter to run for two weeks before I introduced the TSS (along with the female betta shortly after)
During that time I did two 25% water changes one for every week to make sure the aquarium was clean of debris. Each time I added new water to the tank during these two times, I used well water conditioned with Seachem Prime.

I used the entire bottle (100 ML) of tetra safe start +, as I read here before it's not possible to OD on it.
Now I feel like everything has gone terribly wrong and I am not sure what I should do.
There's a thick white buildup on my entire sponge filter and most of my plants. I am not sure what it may be but it looks to be some kind of fungus.

I'm pretty sure that when you add TSS, you aren't supposed to do water changes for like 2 weeks as it removes the bacteria that's trying to colonize in your filter. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

You're right. When you use TSS+ you're not suppose to do water changes for two weeks. Also you need to wait 24 hrs. after using Prime before putting the TSS+ in the tank.

Based on my research as well you can’t overdose on TSS+. I had a very similar white build up my tank after I used TSS, I noticed it immediately after I emptied the same size bottle in a smaller tank than yours as I had very dark gravel. I did water changes as well and my tank still cycled, but the above is the recommended. I don’t think the build up is fungus. I think it’s from the TSS and will go away with time. I had white residue on my gravel and sponge filter for a few weeks after using TSS but it went away after a while and was harmless

My mistake, I thought I specified that I had done these water changes BEFORE I put the TSS in the tank, not after. That's good news that yours did that as well. Did you do anything special to the filter, or did it just resolve itself undisturbed? I'll give it the 2-3 weeks and hope it clears up soon. I am thinking that maybe I put too much of it in the one location.

I didn’t do anything special, I rinse my sponge filter every two weeks in old tank water so I just cleaned it as I normally do. Same thing! It was all over my plants and everything but it went away.
