Trying to make shrimp feel more comfortable...(Also adding cholla wood to an existing scape.)

I have my 10 gallon that I just added 12 RCS and 1 (M.I.A.) Amano shrimp to. I want to add cholla wood to my existing scape but idk how it will look because the textures are very different. I want to make the shrimp more comfortable because they are often hiding.(I haven't seen the amano in 3 days, I think he climbed out). I also want to add ground cover but am unsure what to do...Any ideas/inspiration for adding cholla wood to an existing scape or just making the shrimp more comfortable in general?

A micro sword/chain sword carpet would give the shrimp a lot of hiding places.

It looks to me like they probably already have plenty of hiding places (and your tank looks very nice). Hiding most of the time is kinda just what they do, although when they get more comfortable in the tank you'll see them out grazing on the biofilm.

Try feeding them in one relatively small area and they'll come out to get it. I usually use a drinking straw to place the food in mine. I put the food in a crease in my palm, then slide it into the straw with my finger over the other end. Stick the end in the tank a short distance, take your finger off the end, then lower it until the end is near the substrate and wait for the food to fall out.

Regardless of how it looks I recommend the cholla wood. My cherries only seem to really thrive if they have cholla in the tank

I'm not denying that that's your experience, but my blue tank is thriving with absolutely zero cholla.

Well I’ll see if I can incorporate it without disrupting the scape too much but I will definitely try to.

What about a clump of Java Moss? I wrapped a loose ball of it around a couple of sticks of Cholla.

I'm just going to say that I do that all the time lol.

On the topic of what to add, I think that your tank would benefit from Java Moss as said by others. An alternative would be Süßwassertang or Flame Moss.

Guppy grass and pearl weed are also good shrimp plants.

Don’t know if this was said but try flame moss, java moss, or Christmas moss. Maybe Christmas moss because it’s December.
