Trying to decide which loach to get

I have been doing some reading on here and other sites about getting some loaches to help assist me and snail traps in my 110 gallon 5 foot long low tech planted tank. Currently it is stocked with 7 Panda Cories, 3 Pepper Cories(3-4 more in the future), 3 Adult swordtails and an unknown number of fry, 12 Neon Tetras(at least 20 was the plan), 4 Harlequin Rasboras, 4 Zebra Danios, and 4 Oto's(plan to get 3-4 more). As far as loaches go I know I can get 4 clown loaches for $20, and I know they get big. Other thoughts where 3 Yo-Yo loaches, it seems they can be happy in a group of 3 from what I have read, or Zebra Loaches around 5 of them. The system does run on the warm side here in Florida, in the summer it's not unusual for it to be pushing 81 Fahrenheit. I'm leaning towards the Yo-Yo's since it appears I don't need as many and they don't get as big as the Clown Loaches.

Yoyos are awesome. They're very active and have great personalities. Just be careful with anything long finned, because yoyos do sometimes nip.

The longest fin is the sword on the male swordtail. Maybe getting chase a little will keep him off the ladies.

You do have stocking problems, the raboras and danios should be in a group minimum of 6. You can't get clown loaches cause they will out right beat the corys. Both will compete with space and food, and they will win since they are 10x bigger than corys.

That's true. You do need to add some zebras and rasboras. I don't know much about the clowns, but I do know they get big. Yoyos will get semI big but mine get along well with my corys.

That's one reason I'm not to hot on the Clowns, as far a the Harlequins and Danios go I'll either add a couple of them or find them a new home.

I had a full danio school and a heater malfinction dropped me down to 4.. they are much more annoying as tank mates now- I would get more (my next project..). As for the loaches- there are a lot of loaches to pick from, especially with a larger tank, yoyos, kuhlis, (depending on temp and flow you can look at hillstreams), and there is a med sized loach that looks like a big kuhlI and its like giant loach or something along those lines.

I'd advise doing some research on Loaches Online where many people keep them.

It is not generally considered a good idea to purchase fish in order to cure a snail problem. Can't you live with the snails?

I would doubt that 3 fish constitutes a suitable sized group.

Another thing to be concerned about is temperature compatibility of your stock.

I hope it goes well.
