Trouble

I'm going away for 10 days but we don't have a timer and I can't get one now. So should I leave the light on the whole time or off the whole time I'm scared about algae. We have live plants.

I would leave it off, it'll be less stressful for the fish & they'll be fine with natural daylight.
Depending on what plants you have they may wilt a bit, but if you've only got easy plants like swords, Java ferns etc they'll be fine

The rotalia may suffer a bit without the lights but should bounce back once you're home again
