Click on "Additional Options" below the text box for your post. Then you can 'attach' files by browsing for them.

Do you have any photo-working software like photoshop to save smaller versions of the pics for attaching to posts?

Try the free photo editing software from Google called Picasa. To resize use "File" then "Export" and select the number of pixels and quality until you get the desired size and quality.

- there's also this open-source photoshop-type program. Pretty good piece of software and the price is right.

Alright my question is how do I post a pic and not leave just a link? I have read the how to's but honestly all I see is code. The reason for me asking is so I can start a thread on my tanks and just use those threads to ask questions about whatever comes up and I need information. Thank you any help would be appreciate it.

HI James
I'm not sure I understand.
Are you wanting all your pictures in one place then upload them to different threads as questions arise?

You can use the gallery. After you upload pictures to your gallery you can copy and paste the img code provided.

To create your gallery click on Aquarium Fish Pictures at the top of the page.
Then click Member Galleries.
At the top right you'll see the option to upload pictures.

I should have been more specific. I have galleries, I I copy and paste the URL. I was wondering how I could post a pic in a thread and have it be the pic instead of a link. I see other people doing it and I wasn't sure If I was doing right or not.

Try using the upload img link at the top of the the test box.
It's a box with a little tree in it

Or click Go advanced.
Scroll down to manage Attachments and upload from there.

Lets see if I can help you out here. Say you are replying to this thread and want a picture.

Click on the "go advanced" button.
Under the text area there is a button that says manage attachments.
Either upload a pic or drag a previously uploaded pic down to the bottom box then click "insert inline" and then "done"

And presto an in-thread picture!

How are you trying to post them? Uploading here to the site, or direct linking them from a a photo sharing or DropBox account?

Direct linking from my Dropbox account;

What I do is

When starting a thread:
1. You can go to "Manage Attachments" under the box where you type.
2. Click "Add Files" it has a green button with a white plus on it.
3. Then go to "Select Files"
4. Find the picture on your computer and click them
5. Click "Upload" (it is now between the "Select Files" and Basic Uploader" buttons)
6. Make sure that they are in the bottom row on the page and that they little box in the bottom right hand corner of the picture has a check mark in it (the picture will also have blue behind it). Click "Insert In Line".

Betta.jpg

You can do steps 2, 3 and 4 multiple times to get more pictures in one thread. If the box in Step 6 is not checked the pictures will not be in line (like if you want it in a certain spot in your paragraph, but will be attched to the end of the post. For example my white betta's picture is "in line", and my yellow betta is just attached.

I hope this helps!
