I have about 5 Danios, 5 tetras, 5 Corys, 1 red tail shark, and 5 Cherry barbs. Everybody gets along splendidly except for 1 barb. The entire group of fish seem to be friends. They are all gathered on one side of the tank. There is 1 Cherry Barb (the largest of them) that sits along the bottom of the tank underneath some driftwood. Any fish that comes within 2 inches of the middle of the tank it chases the fish back to the other side of the tank. It even chases the larger red tail shark. What should I do? Should I just move him to my quarantine tank? Move all the barbs to the quarantine tank? Nothing?

I would move this fish to another tank for a time out. Sometimes by doing so they will get an attitude adjustment and once allowed back in the main tank they behave themselves. Personally I don't allow bully fish in my peaceful tank. I would give this bully a time out and if that didn't work I would find it a new home.

I have a harlequin that hogs the whole center of the tank in front of the hob filter, chases other harlequins away. I tried a qt time out for like an hour, but a different one already took its place as the dominant one, so I just put it back in and left it alone. They all school at night and there’s no fin nipping / damage done so it’s nature

Whats so weird is the other 5 Cherry Barbs school all day and night. This one stays away.

I had a white fin rosy tetra do the same thing - not become a bully but hid in a cove all day long while the other 5 schooled. Probably a sex thing but haven't bothered to figure out how to sex the tetra. I will say after 2 or 3 months the dynamics changed and it came out. To be honest I thought it was dead for a while - because the hiding place is barely big enough for it to sneak in and i didn't spot it for at least 4 weeks.
