This is probably the BEST book for those who want a guide to types of aquarium fish.
It's small, has a picture of every species it describes, has accurate descriptions of fishes, and has many rare species of fish.

They start out by introducing all the types of fish families in the world. They go back to this in the species profiles as well.
They tell you the family, characteristics, care, habits, compatibility, other names, and similar species in each species profile.
Among the rare fish are the Rock Krib, Zebra Obliquidens, Congo Puffer, Dwarf Rainbowfish, Panamanian Yellow Cichlid, and many more.......
At the end they have different types of biotope aquariums, and suggestions of fish for each one.

I'm going to have to update this...... this book is somewhat absurd on the min tank sizes, for instance: 3.5 inch celebes halfbeak minimum tank size: 625 gallons. What?! And the min for hatchetfish is apparently 87.5 gallons...... Most of them are too big, but some are too small..... so that's a con.
