120 Gallon Tank Tropheus Duboisi Holding

TanksfortheMemories

My first foray into Tropheus, I purchased a group of 10 F1 adults that turned out to be 8 males and 2 females so I found some F1 adult breeder females and got a dozen more.

After venting the initial group, I relocated 7 males to another tank and had my "ideal" group of 1 male to 14 females.

After nothing for about a month but a little shimmying here and there. My tank of a female is now holding, hopefully the rest will follow.

I hope to be able to put up some fry photos in 4-6 weeks.

It makes sense that they hold the fry, but it still kind of throws me off and cracks me up all at the same time! Cichlids...

I was fascinated by the process and have only done mouth brooders since I've been keeping Tanganyikan's. It takes time to get the parameters right. I used to breed the sand sifters, xenos and callochromis. This is my first time with Tropheus so I'm greatly anticipating my first spawn.

Let's see.
