Im looking to get a Trinidad Pleco for my African Cichlid tank. It grows algae extreamly fast so it will not only help me clean it but it can pretty much feed itself. But I havent had my aquarium very long so Im no expert so, what do you thnk, should I get one?

I have 2 of them and love them. They grow large so you may need to get a larger tank, they are nonaggressive so I would be concerned with the cichlid's bothering them. I know they are aggressive. Other than that I would say yes

They're useless for algae after they grow a bit, a BN would be better both for algae cleanup and tank size.

Ya, BN = bushy/bristle nose pleco, more suitable for most tanks than Trinidad (aka common) pleco's that grow to 2' given proper care.

Hello Gbreeder. Your Pleco (to my knowledge any type that you decide on) will love a variety of food. Algae (at times), regular sinking algae waffers, veggies such as cucumbers and especially zucchini. Mine loves zucchini!
