Hi everyone, had a Hydra outbreak so I'm using Panacur C for treatment. I'm wondering about water flow and medication penetration into the deep substrate in my 100 gallon tank.

There are two sections at opposite ends of my tank that have about 6-7 inches of substrate creating a valley in the middle of the tank. In those deeper sections, I've seen leeches looking around for prey against the glass around 4 inches deep in the gravel. I've heard that fenbendazole can kill leeches as well but I am wondering if they are protected due to being deep in the substrate.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

There's a good chance they will be safe. If anything you could try to collect a few and keep them in a jar for a while during treatment and hopefully they will re populate. I recently did a heavy copper treatment to try to deal with pest snails that was largely unsuccessful due to what i believe is my deep substrate.
