i am about to start treating my tank for ick, I bought aquarium salt and ick guard. All my fish have scales but I have a java loach which is scaleless. Is it okay to use full strength treatment of both things or should I use half strength ?

You should use the half strength treatment but there is no garuntee all the ich would be killed since you are useing less medication. Also make sure to raise the temp a bit to boost the ichs life cycle so the medicine can kill them. If the ich treatment doesnt work at half you can use the high temp and salt treatment.

I wouldn’t use meds and heat treatment at the same time. The medication doesn’t react well to heat sometimes and can openly not work. I wouldn’t dose salt unless you are very experienced in treating ICH. I’d recommend turning off the lights, this reduces stress on fish and can reduce the parasites strength as they thrive in light. Turn up the heat 1 degree Fahrenheit per hour.
