Treating ich questions 30 gallon tank

So in my 30g tank, I have spotted a few of my fish (mollies) having small white dots which I presume is ich due to them never having white spots before and I have a BN pleco in the tank should I only do the partial dose of the ich treatment? because it is 3 of my larger ones and they wouldn't be too great in my Hospital/ quarantine tank which is 5 gal. Also unfortunately I can't change the temp with heater settings on my tank's heater because it's the cheap ones that are preset. Also, the medicine I am using for this is Kordon Rapid Cure. If I do the partial dose I would have to prolong the treatment right? Another question is if I do the partial should I also use stress seachem Stress guard (I just switched to seachem prime 2 months ago) to help the pleco and the fish that don't have ich?

I would do the full treatment the dose is listed as a dose for a reason and yea it would just prolong the treatment and may cost u some casualties as for the temp problem I advise getting a better heater it’s cheaper in the long run than having to constantly restock ur tank cause ur losing fish as for a quick solution I would say raise the temperature y doing small water changes as ur gonna have to do lots of small water changes to after a disease like Ick and u can almost always find cheap used aquarium supplies on market place and similar places hope it all works out

A while ago, I made the rookie mistake of putting some neon rainbow fish I bought at PetCo straight into my 30 gal tank with my tetras and shrimp. Within a day, they were showing signs of Ich and then I noticed it on one of my neon tetras, too.

I did the following with no casualties...

I removed the rainbow fish to a quarantine tank and raised the temp to 32/86 degrees for one week without any meds. After that, I brought the temp back down to 25/77 degrees and treated it with seachem paraguard for 7 days.

Meanwhile, I left the 30 gal at 25/77 degrees and treated it with seachem paraguard for 2 weeks.

Ich completely gone, no deaths.

I am 20 odd hours late to this thread but am pleased to see what has been written above about using a full strength dose regardless of stocking.
In my city in Australia a full dose is always recommended. I have used a full dose on cories BN plecos and fry without a problem. I am using Australian brands of medication I should add.

Thank you! I was just making sure it was safe to do so because the thing said scaleless fish and read online somewhere that BN were scaleless and it would kill them. I will buy a new heater that I can change the temp on, but don't have the money to buy a new heater at the moment due to being a college student and being broke and a lot of people in my area don't keep fish as pets so there isn't much-used fish equipment around. I am going to have my mom do the water changes I already knew about the water changer and she'll do that since I won't be home to do so. I have only had to restock really once in November (started in June 2020) and that was after a power outage in the dead of winter and couldn't take my fish with me being as that place also had no power and was only slight warmer in the 40s instead of the 30s. I added 2 new fish ( recently) because I wanted some balloon mollies and got excited and forgot to quarantine them

Uhhhh isn't this depending on the meds one uses? Manuals should mention / warn if scaleless fish are at risk.

Malachite green and Formaldehde are the ingredients I am referring to .That is the only ingredients in any of the ich medications in Australia. They all claim to be as strong as each other and all give the warning on using them on scaleless fish. It is just not true when you follow the instructions on the dosage or even if you add a lot more than a full dose.

Yes that’s a big one litre bottle of blue planet.

A full dose is enough to kill the free swimming ich. But it can be wasted by adding more than recommended and it still does not kill scaleless fish or their fry.

Of course I am referring to the strength of medication sold in Australia.
