Treating Ich - Does this sound correct?

Sadly my tank looks to have ich outbreak that I notice 5 days ago. Once of the fish were flashing a lot for 4-5 days before this but I didn't realize it was ich as I didn't notice the little white spots. I have been using 40ml "microbe-lift herbtana" each day for the last 5 days. I also gradually raised the temperature up to the max 86 but based off the thermometers it appears the water is only at around 82-83 degrees. Should I buy a stronger heate to get the temperature up to 86 degrees? Also, the bottle on the herbtana says use 12ml for a 60 gallon tank but the guy at the fish store told me to use 40ml for my tank so I've been going with the 40. The white spots have gone away on the fish that only had a couple but the three fish that had multiple white spots now have a bunch (like 10 more than they had before). Most the fish are doing ok besides those three fish that seem to be struggling. Should i take these fish out? Really confused on what to do next.

Any help is much appreciated
PLEASE HELP!!

I have a heater that also doesn't show 86 (it shows lower). I'm going to post a link to a thread that will help. I got great info! Only one of my fish had ich but I used heat and salt and worked for me. I personally upped the heat until the thermometer read 86. Doesn't matter what heater says imho only thermometer. Thank you for the response! Did you also do daily water changes when you were treating the ich? My tank is still new and has only been fully cycled for about 3 weeks so I don't want to remove beneficial bacteria by vacuuming the gravel and doing daily water changes.

You need to get the temp to 86F and keep it there. If you can't do that reliably you need to use meds and if so I'd swap the herbal stuff for a traditional Ich med. Vacuuming during Ich treatment is just a light surface skim. You'll need to replace any meds lost in the process.

I had a 200 wat heater that was set to the max(87) and was only getting to about 82-83. I went and bought a 300 wat heater, set it at 86 and it's been running for about 18 hours now. My thermometers(one on each side of tank) read 80 degrees now. Do you think I should put the 200 wat heater in with the 300 wat heater and set them both at 86 or would this be too much?
Also, would you recommend more frequent water changes? Right now I'm only doing once a week.
Thank you for your help!

The room must be quite cold? I assume the new heater has been on more or less constantly? They usually have an indicator light to tell you when they are on. Yes I'd add the other heater. You can do a light gravel vac (just skim the surface) every couple of days and go back to your normal water change schedule when you're finished with Ich treatment.

I've treated ich at 70 degrees with ich x. I dont run heaters in most my tanks so have never gone the heat route. ich x has proved very effective for me.
