Transplanting myriophyllum spicatum in Lake Tahoe

So I found myriophyllum spicatum in Lake Tahoe but the roots are so deep into the lake it's impossible to get the whole plant out and I want to add these to my soon to be dirted tank, what should I do?

Take cuttings! They should root readily from any node along the stems

What do you mean by cutting

Have you ever propagated a stem plant? It's the same thing

Yep! Just snip the stem in two and stick what had been the top section into the substrate. Make sure to put it the same way up as before!
