Transhipping Pain Points And Opportunities For Improvement

HI Everyone, I am interested in becoming a transhipper and wanted to learn about the pain points that many of you have experienced when buying fish overseas. This is a relatively new endeavor for me, but I have read about many people's experiences and I want to do my best to improve on the current processes (e.g. modes of communication, order management, shipping, etc.). Your genuine input would be appreciated, and in turn I promise to do my best to make your experience better when I start my business. Please feel free to also offer any other recommendations or tips that you may have. Thank you very much!

As long as you 1. Don't make up problems to hold the fish longer than needed, or 2. Be terrible at replying to customers emails, you're already on the right track. Those are the biggest complaints I see
Besides that, the hardest part will be getting your name out there so people can use your service.

Thank you for your concise but insightful feedback. This is definitely not an easy endeavor to begin, but your comments are helpful for me to better understand how I can potentially differentiate my business. There has to be a better way to do business!

Well I haven't done anything like this before so I would take my advice with a grain of salt, but my best idea for overcoming the latter half of my comment would be trying a short term partnership of some sort with a transhipper that people already know about would help get your name out at least.
Really all you have to do to be liked is be polite and proactive. Most people would find it comforting to have some level of interaction with you. This could be as simple as sending them a video of their fish when you get them and/or before you send them on their way.

Have you ever shipped fish ?
What is your history in the fish business?
What makes being a Trans shipper something that interest you ?
Have you spoke with any of the breeders abroad ? They are who would be referring you to their customers ?
