A good friend of ours sister's house was completely destroyed by a tornado over the weekend. She lived just outside of Valdosta, GA. I believe she lived in Lakeland. The house next door to hers is gone. Nothing left but the slab. About half of her house is gone I think.

Some of you may have read my thread A Bat's Eye View. On that thread I stated that the weather could change at any time, and this became true all too soon.

It started raining buckets this afternoon, and soon after several tornados ripped through the area. My grandmother's house is completely destroyed, and I am headed to my mother's, unaware of what lies in store. Most are without power, and many are injured. Please keep Yonder in your prayers

I just got home. Everything is fine; the fish are alive, siblings are asleep, and I'm in the living room with a few candles. None of my family was injured, and my grandmother found her dog (they are sitting with me now).

Thanks everyone

I seriously doubt I will be able to go to school today. Thunder is literally shaking the house, and its roar is deafening. In addition, it has not stopped raining since 3 PM on Sunday!

Another 3-4 inches of rain is expected, and now we are under a flash flood warning. The river may swell up to 19 feet by this evening.

This is the worst weather I've experienced here in several years. The last hurricane just dumped rain on us; even the lawn chairs stayed in place!

Me either. I would rather put up with frigid temperatures, tons of snow and the occasional flood.

The weather is very strange these days.... Here in Florida, the winter temps are in the 80s. Disgusting if you ask me. I look forward to the cold temps all year!

move to Canada!!!!! stable temps, snow every year (no wondering if it will come around or not), and in my part of the country I haven't actually seen a tornado in the 10+ years I have lived here.

Hopefully the last ... or atleast the last for another 150 years! Can't have the Bats all whiplashed cause of some twister!!!

Here in Nebraska we take tornadoes with a grain of salt. When we hear sirens it means take your horses in and enjoy a snack on the porch. Right now I’m in good old Nashville and they were nice enough to make us feel at home with some sirens. How do people react to bad weather in your area?

Here in Maine pretty much the worst thing we get is a huge snow storm, at least in my area we don't do a thing except make sure the generator is good to go and we have a plow truck to get out of our driveway. lol Open the door every once in a while if we don't have to go to work and see if there is a snow wall in front of the door when we open it.

Luckily in Alaska we do not really have bad weather other than snow, the only thing people sort of freak out about are earth quakes, Last year we had a pretty large earth quake in the middle of the night and alerts our phones started going off warning of a tsunami. Then the tsunami alarm stated blaring.

The worst weather we get down here is when the weather drops below 60... the horror

We don’t have tornados where i’m at. We have fires, small earthquakes and sometimes rain storms(?). Everyone likes to act surprised when something happens. Even though most of them happen all the time.
