20 Gallon Tank Topping The Evaporative Water Off

Hello All, I have several freshwater Tanks that have been cycled for several years now, I normally do a water change weekly anywhere from 20% to sometimes 50% and of course I use water conditioner, I have noticed here lately that when I add the water where it has been evaporated I am getting what

looks like to me a bloom of some sort the cloudy look. My water out of the tap is 2 KH and 2 GH and I
always raise them both of course because I have many guppy tanks, Most tanks are kept at a steady KH 8 and GH 10-12. The amount of water that is added when evaporated is a small amount at that, Any ideas?? My ppm's all look good to and my tanks normally are kept at around 80 because of so many guppy fry in the tanks. Thank You

Your soft water is great for fish. No need to add hardness when topping off since the minerals don't evaporate.

Try topping off with cold water instead since the small amount wont make a difference in temperature or have a small bucket of dechlorified water ready. No need to remineralize top offs either.
I am not sure what causes the cloudiness for you but some water conditioners and mineralising solutions can cause a brief clouding effect. Another possibility; Warmed water straight from tap might have some gassing in it from quick heating of water and look like cloudy water.

I never add hardness when topping the evaporated water off, The water is added to prevent a calcium water line from occurring in the tanks, As we all know these are a pain in the you know what to get off in a tank once you have them

Well all my tanks run around a temp of 80 have so many guppy fry it ain't even funny, So try to keep the tap the same temp when adding new water. Okay will try to add the tap water a little cooler and see what happens then Thank You

I personally stop using heaters in the summer when the temp inside the house very rarely drops under 75F and peaks to 85F in worst heat. Since the temperature changes are never sudden changes of over 5 or more degrees this way and quite natural fluctuations instead, the fish are all fine.
(I have rummy nose tetras and black neons which are both warm temperature fish)
I do water changes with fairly cold water from tap (sometimes under 15F on winters) , just making sure not to dump all 30-50% of colder replacement water at once.
