Too much rock?

I'm thinking about doing a more simple layout with just large rocks. Will decreasing this layout cause more aggression?

This is a 40g breeder tank.

You can change it the only issue you will have is the fish will fight for new territory.

Would you go with one pile that goes up to the surface or just line the bottom with rocks?

Pile that goes to the surface, they like staying close to the rockworks.

Love the rockwork and the algae looks really good.

I really like the algae on the rocks, it gives a more natural look to the tank :)

It grows really fast to. Usually dark green. I moved one of the rocks to my fry tank and it has 3" of algae coming off it.

Just to clarify, since the photo is deceiving, there is roughly 10" of open space between the front glass and the rocks.

Aqueon 500 pump in lower right back corner pointing across the back.
Aqueon 500 pump in mid left glass pointing across the front of the rocks.

@LeoDiaz, Do you think I could add a 3rd Aqueon 500 or would that be a waste?

Imo no need for more pumps, my 75 the only think i have is the filter and my fish are happy with just that.
