Too much debris in shrimp tank?

This is my 20gal long with blue velvet shrimp. It is starting to collect debris on bottom. Some poop. Maybe pieces of almond leaf?? Yes bare bottom

There are about 100 juvenile and adults and a hundred or so of babies.

Do I need to clean ASAP? Or am I ok for a few? I do waterchanges but limit my vac of bottom.

 

if its barebottom, then it should be barebottom id say.. buildup of debris will cause spikes. shrimp setups require small 25% water changes 3x a week. are you not performing enough water changes?

I do 20% a week change but ad %30 due to evaporation.

Luckily so far all perameters are very stable on all my shrimp tanks. I test all perameters atleast weekly.

Just wondering if other shrimp keepers really vac w airline tube all bottom weekly.

 

That is what substrate hides from us . That is fine but easy to remove.
Those of us with substrate tanks don’t know we have double that. Those of us with bare bottom at least can keep an eye on it and clean it up if we easy when we want to.

That looks a lot like IAL as it disintegrates. It’s possibly still doing what IAL does?

I think it may me alot of IAL debris as all my shrimp tanks do have IAL but I rearranged only the blue tank to fit a piece of driftwood. I maybe extra crinkled it .
