Too Many Plants For A 10 Gallon Tank?

so I want to do a fairly heavily planted 10 gallon tank for a Betta and a small shoal of Pygmy Cories, but I don't know if I've picked too many plants to fit comfortably. I haven't purchased them yet, but I just want to know if there are any changes I should make.

3 Anacharis Najas
2 Amazon Swords
1 Hornwort
1 Anubias Hastifolia or Congensis
2 Melon Swords
1 Watersprite
2 Java Ferns
2 Anubias Barteri
1 Marimo Moss Ball
1 Dwarf Hairgrass
1 Giant Micro Sword
1 Baby Tears (floating at the surface)

That is a lot of plants. The hornwort will take over the surface, given half a chance. Use it or the water sprite, but not both. Baby tears and hair grass are both CO2 / high light plants.

Honestly, I would start with a few things: moss ball, a few java fern and anubias, a floater like the hornwort, let them grow a bit, then start adding what you need.

You can start off with a few plants then once they've grown in you can see how it looks and add a few more. Continue until it's what you want.

Also I know a lot of people disagree on this but I belive that, because they are active fish that should be kept in groups of 6 or more, pygmy cories shouldn't be kept in 10 gallon tanks

I don't think it too much but maybe too many large ones. 4 swords and 2 java fern. One amazon can swallow a 10 easily. But I like most of the list. I assume the swords and fern are for background. You have 20in length 3 large plants are more than enough to create a back drop if that's your desire.

Agree. An amazon is too big. This is a split amazon in a 40g

Hornwort and duck weed may block out too much light for the ground cover.
