Tis The Season. Stolen Package?

Recently ordered an item, received email “Package delivered”. Checked “No Package”. Bummer.

Contacted well know On-line retailer and seller. Was advised “Package delivered” and provided shipment details by both. Duh! That’s why I contacted you I already have shipment details. Then was told it “Might have been stolen, That it is happening more frequently”. Also informed that since package was delivered it is not their responsibility after that point. Even though the package was insured the insurance only covers missing or damaged item. Only other option available is to file report with the police department and file a claim with my insurance company. (remember, your deductable?). As it turns out the item was delivered but to the wrong address. Yeah! Anyways, just thought I would share and remind everyone about possible issues, and that insurance does not cover delivery to wrong address or stolen package. I have had well over 100 packages delivered no issues. Now, considering having signature required on deliveries but what an inconvenience if no one is home. Live and Learn.

Sorry this happened & the advice extends to over here in the Uk too, paying a little more for a signature on delivery is imo worth the extra fee

Thanks Everyone, What surprised me most was the comment/disclaimer that "Even if delivered to wrong address it is still considered delivered and their responsibility is complete".
What? Are you kidding me!

We now have 1 day Amazon prime delivery.
I used it for a shipment.
Got home to find the package sitting at our back door on the ground.
I'll be sticking with 2 day delivery, as that is handled by Canada Post and either goes to the community mailbox (locked parcel compartment) or the nearest outlet.

I don't know when it became acceptable to just leave packages on the door step. Couple that with not taking responsibility for just leaving something out in the open or delivering to the wrong address just boggles my mind.
This hasn't always been the case.

If you are someone who gets a lot of packages delivered an elephant trunk parcel drop box might be an option

Its always happening, I had to go and take a package out of my neighbors front garden, the delivery guy just left it there. I wish a courier would leave my stuff outside id be getting a free extra on them, I think some delivery companies are over loading the employees as well.

It's all baically piece work, the more you deliver the more $'s you make.
Minus if you miss deliveries. Seen quite a few videos of unprofessional delivered items. Especially our own Post Office carriers. What a shame.
