Tip for hot days - Outlet thermostat

TanksfortheMemories

I just figured this one out. I was using a fan to cool down my fish room on hot days.

Unfortunately when away from home I had no chance to turn on my fans.

Lux makes an outlet thermostat you can plug into your fan, set the temp threshold and that's it.

When the room temp hits say 76, fan turns on, when it drops back in the evening, fan turns off.

Feel a bit silly I didn't know this before.

. . . Feel a bit silly I didn't know this before.

I don't think there's any reason to feel silly. I never dreamed such a thing existed.

I just keep the fan on, on top of the tank, all the time.. I have no chance for the temp to drop under 75 indoors here at summer since it doesnt drop under 68 outside at nights either

The temp swings where I'm at in California, up to 100 during the day then 60s at night.

Im away quite often for 3-4 days, so with the thermostat I can make sure the fan kicks in when it gets hot.
