Tiny little white worm things in my bettas tank

Hi! So i just noticed some tiny little white worm things in my bettas tank. It looks like they were growing on a sponge that i use to slow the water flow in the tank. Does anyone know what they are or if they’re harmful? My betta ate one I attached a blurry picture, they’re so small it’s hard to photograph them.
After doing some googling i think they are Detritus worms? But my tank just finished cycling so the water parameters are perfect and i know the tank is clean because i had been doing water changes every other day and now that the tank is cycled i am doing water changes once a week— i’ve recently added some new live plants so could they have come through that? and are they a problem?

Detritus Worms. They are completely harmless and they can make a great snack for your Betta. These worms are naturally present in almost all if not every healthy aquarium. Normally they hang in the substrate of your tank and you just don't notice them. However, If you begin seeing a ton of these guys in the water column it may indicate you have an overabundance of organic matter in your aquarium caused by overfeeding, overstocked aquariums, or a lot of decaying plant leaves. It could also indicate that you cleaned the tank recently and possibly disturbed the substrate as well.
