Timetable to waterlog wood

For the tank I'm planning I'd like to include a nice piece of driftwood. I get it different species are likely to waterlog at different rates but I was wondering if there's a general timetable for waterlogging them.
Would kind of be nice if I could waterlog the wood before putting it in the tank but if it takes some incredible length of time or there's no good data on that I'll just look into effective means of sinking it... and possibly set up an experiment to get that data when I have the time and money to spare for it.

Malaysian, MopanI and Manzanita become water logged extremely fast. Sometimes it sinks immediately.
MopanI & Malaysian will continually leach tannins no matter how long its soaked.

Thank you. The Manzanita wood looks like it'd be great for the aquascape I'm planning.

Yeah, seems like some woods will take forever and a day to waterlog. What kind of wood did you say you have?

I honestly don’t know. I bought it on eBay. I scratched it but it has no smell.

also it’s HUGE so probably has lots of air pockets.

I bought a couple pieces of Grapevine wood. I didn’t realize I had to soak it so long. I soaked mine for a week and it still floated. I ended up boiling it for 2 hrs and it sank immediately after that.

Anytime I get a new piece of DW I just give it a good cleaning under boiling hot water and place it in the tank then when it eventually sinks I place it where I want it.

Mine took about a week. It was much faster than I expected, so much so that I wasn't ready for it. So I have left it soaking for a month now while get the set-up ready for it.

I soaked my large driftwood for 2 days and it floated in my 55 gal. I had to use rocks to hold them down, After about 2-3 weeks I removed the rocks and they were ok. The yellowish color remained in the water for about a month.
