Tiger barbs ate my snail!!

I woke this morning to discover my tigers, for whatever reason (I dunno what the snail said to them), had eaten one of my snails, leaving only the shell and the door as evidendce it was even there. Prior to this morning, I had seen no evidence that the barbs had any interest at all in the snails. Just a matter of time til they munch the other snail, I guess...Probably wouldn't be any safer in the big tank with the tin foils, would it?

I've never heard of tiger barbs eating snails. Were there any other fish in there? You're 1 of the few people who dislike having their snails being eaten

Well, the tigers are the most likely suspects, being the only aggressive fish in the tank. At the time, the only other fish I had in the tank was a panda cory. All I know for sure is within 2 days of being introduced to the tank, all that was left of one snail was the shell, and the door...Something ate it.

They've gotten better at it too, it seems...Over the past month, BOTH of my ottos have mysteriously vanished. No floaters, nothing stuck to the filter intake, gone...poof! Not sure I can point the finger at the tigers, water conditions, alien abduction. All I know is one by one, the both just vanished... :-\

barbs are a evil fish! they will eat all dead fish!
