Had swim bladder issue. Quarantined and medicated with methylene blue and metroplex(I'm in Canada)
Got better quickly. Today (a week later) popped him back in main tank and saw the issue! /:-0

I've seen pictures like this and the person was told worms but this doest look skinny enough to me. I've looked up the kind of worms they were talking about and it does t look like this.

I'd guess that's a severe prolapse. Fish doesn't look good from those photos.

For a 4-5 Yr old fish that unwell, it may be better to consider euthanasia.

Thank you. I guess whatever it was I wasn't expecting a pleasant solution :(

Just checked on him.. this gets weirder. The red thing can't be seen and now this fluffy white stuff is hanging out..

Well I've put him back in the quarantine tank/Tupperware. He looked much calmer in that tank this morning before I moved him.

It's nice and dark and shallow and very well oxygenated. If nothing else he can be in a calm environment until I decide/am able to do something.

Unfortunately I also agree with a prolapse, especially in an older fish. :(

Oh ok... :( ..... Thank you for responding

This is a good case for humanly euthanization. I recommend the clove oil method.

I was a bit freaked at first because my fish started swimming frantically when I first started adding the clove oil but he quickly settled and went unconscious.

Thank you for everyone's help and advice

I am sorry for your Loss! It might help in the future to ad the water and oil mixture slower. But hopefully, you won't need it anytime soon!
