this is the first 25 gallon build since i was a kid

I'm new to the forum....I am slowly building up the population in my 25 gallon tropical aquarium, it has an aquaclear 200 filter, has fake plants and a piece of drift wood. currently I have 6 Neon dwarf rainbows, 6 furcata rainbows, 3 peacock gudegons and finally 2 bristle nose plecos... I am looking to add a few more fish...I'm just not sure what would be a good finishing touch (preferably something colorful) and am looking for some ideas/opinions, any suggestions would be grateful. thank you!

I am pretty sure your tank is over stock, unfortunately I do not recommend any more fish in a small 25...sorry! and is the new tank CYCLED? what the water parameter?

 

yes it is CYCLED, ammonia is at 0, nitrate is at 20, nitrite is at 0, hardness is at 150, chlorine is 0, alkalinity is at 40, pH is at 7.3....with the weekly water change being on saturday.

 

nice, thank you for the info, its a 25 gallon tank right? not 250 gallon? why are you using aquaclear 200, the fish will be dead by then...

I think you meant aquaclear 20?

so anyways, according to aqadvisor and other accurate calculators...your tank is OVERSTOCKED.

plus, I only typed in 3 type of fish you have in there and it is 141 per scent overstocked!


just going to make a suggestion if I were you, I will start rehome them before they all...well/// I am sorry.

HI and welcome to the forum and glad you decided to join us. I am not familiar with rainbows or the how bid they get. With the bristlenose plecs your bottom is pretty full. What are the dimentions of the tank as far as length , width and height? Is it a tall or a breeder tank? By the Way Bristlenose plecos are my favorite fish.

Imo, this stock could work, depending on what the dimensions are.

Edit: besides the two BN plecos. Just keep one.

 

I will double check the dimensions of the tank when I get home this evening.

As for the filter I double checked and it is an aquaclear 200 for up to 50 gallon tanks. And mine is indeed 25 gallons

So the dimensions of the tank are 12.5" deep, 29.5" wide, 16.5" tall
