So I've been thinking of starting my 1st saltwater tank and have been looking into using a sump filtration but the 55gal tank I have is all tempered glass and can not drill it what options do I have to still use a sump

there is always a HOB (hang on back) sump.

    Click on "LifeReef

Then on the left side, scroll down to "Prefilter Boxes"

Not sure why that site won't link directly to the boxes.

You can purchase a HOB overflow, or if you want, you could DIY a cheap PVC overflow. It's a lot less elegant but still functional.

The OP is not asking about setting up a skimmer. The OP is asking for what their options are with getting a sump on a tank with tempered glass.

Ok so with a 55gal what would be the smallest possible size sump to use. Cause I have an old 10 gallon tank but don't k ow if it's a good size to use

A 10 gallon sump will be fine. But bigger is always better. You should see if it's possible to fit a 20 long or something.

I plan on building my own stand for the tank, and was thinking go about having 2 sumps in 2 10 gallon tanks that way I could fit more.
