10 Gallon Tank Thinking of Getting Plants

Hello, I am thinking of getting some plants for my 10 gallon tank. I have tried plants a few months ago, but let's just say it didn't go well. This time, I was determined to do this correctly. I got a new light that was highly rated and was said to be able to grow plants. One thing I saw with my research is they need iron supplements. I have regular standard color river rock gravel that you can get at your local Petco. Should I pick up a 7 dollar API Leaf Zone Freshwater bottle that provides iron and potassium supplements for plants. Just wondering to any aquascapers who can give me some help. Please and Thank You. Have a great day.

Plants need a lot more than just iron and potassium. I think getting an all in one fertilizer (like Thrive or Easy Green) is the simplest way to go.

Go to GLA, green leaf aquariums website and get powder ferts. Then get a few pump or cheap spray bottles. Finally got to Rotala Butterfly calculator to figure out how much powder to put in each to make homemade liquid ferts. Need idea what pH of water is and all to see if you'd need liquid iron or not. $15 plus shipping for years of ferts if you just have a 10g tank plus the cost of bottles to pump in or spray into tank. I can also help with making ferts too. Just what I would do for better nutrition and save a bunch in the long run.
