OK, in an earlier thread of mine, written just after Elvis passed away due to a power outage, I had decided not to get another betta. So, this morning while we were grocery shopping at Wal-Mart, I went to pick up some cat food and treats. (everyone knows where this is going ) So I passed by the bettas. Most of them were in okay conditions, but very still. Then I saw one guy flaring like there was no tomorrow! And man, was he BIG! Then I saw the state of his tail...
The poor boy's tail was completely gone except for a shredded strand at the bottom. So I picked him up, and raced back to my parents. They said no. Big surprise. I stood my ground and told them that if he wasn't put in clean, warm water with good food, he would die. And I held him up to them, (he was still flaring) and said that he wanted to live. (a bit dramatic, but it did the trick! ) So now I have a beautiful green betta, who is lovin' his new home with Dolce, the frog. (Dolce's a bit freaked out by him, but he'll get used to him).
Hehehehe. I feel like such a hypocrite right now.
