These Tiger Barbs are killing my snails!!!!

My Tiger barbs seem to be fascinated with my mystery snails!!!! I suspect the reason my last one died ( Darth ) was because they constantly picked at it, rolled it around like they were playing dodge ball and otherwise harassed it to death. Now, I am almost sure they killed off the smaller mystery snail ( Indy ) as it is tightly in its shell and they have been doing the same thing to it last few days. I have not seen the snail move for a day or so. I fear it is dead

The barbs don't harass any of my other fish and don't seem to nip at anything but each other....

Are they notorious for picking at snails?????

I have one other snail in the tank who mostly hides but is otherwise still okay..........

I had a similar issue with sword tails I had to move them to a diffident tank

8 - they don't bother anyone else which is really weird. I thought for sure they'd have problems with my tetras but they don't even notice them! Just the snails!!!

 

my snails usually slap fish if they are messing with them lol

It really wouldn't surprise me! My barbs EAT everything! They have managed to eat the paint off of my decorations, I catch them trying to eat the fake plants, they pick at everything in sight!!!! It's crazy! They move my decorations around and anything that's not tied or weighted down, eventually gets knocked over or moved! But eating my snails???? Spank their butts!!!
