There Has Got To Be A Better Way To Feed Frozen Brine Shrimp

I've just gotten done looking on Amazon for feeders for frozen brine shrimp cubes, but none of the reviews was that encouraging. I feed cubes of brine shrimp a few times a week and the cube kind of floats on the surface for a bit and then all at once starts falling apart. In some of my tanks it doesn't matter -- the fish go after it anyhow -- but it's disappointing to watch my tetras in a mostly-tetra tank ignore it once it hits the substrate and though there are corydoras in there, I still feel a lot of feed is being wasted.

Does anyone know of a better way to feed frozen brine-shrimp cubes?

Note to self: Spell out Brine Shrimp -- "Frozen BS Cubes" just sounds weird...

I defrost them in a net pooring warm water from the tap over them. Then I feed them.

I put them in a bottle top on top of the tank before feeding to defrost. Then I suck some up in a 1ml syringe and slowly squirt them in the tank.

I hadn't thought of those methods. Thanks for your suggestions!

I just scrape/cut/break off however much I need, put it in a red solo cup, or a cup or whatever I use for fish, and put some tank water in. Then just squirt a bit in at a time. If I have extras I refridgerate until the next day.

I put the cube in a tiny bowl, and defrost in warm water, then dump the whole thing into my tank.

These are all good suggestions.... Here I was thinking I might need a feeding cone or something...

The defrosting method in a cup with tank water along with squirting into the tank using a pipette works for me. I also use this method for frozen blood worms (cut into smaller pieces). I have found the brine shrimp and worms float in the water long enough for the Tetras to get their share.

Just realized the "bee ess" abbreviation was censored out! Honestly, it stood for brine shrimp!

I'm another one for putting it in a little plastic container, adding in some water from my aquarium, then dumping it in when it's thawed

I use a cone, but my puffers are afraid of the cone for now. They are getting closer. For now, they prefer the snails. I put what I am going to use in a tiny tupperware bowl, add a small amount of tank water, and then pour it into the cone.

I suggested what I do, but not what I should do.
You really should defrost them in a little container, with warm water, and then using a little pipette to squirt them into the tank directly for the fish.

I have some of those little screw lid containers (the type for pills, glitter etc.), I pop out a cube or 2 in one and let thaw. Sometimes I worry about the salt water they're in because I use zeolite in my filters, so I might rinse in a little tea strainer and spoon back into a container for next time etc. If I don't use all of it I simply put the lid back on and re-freeze for the next feeding.

Haha that's basically exactly what I do Then store in a little container (frozen) for later if I prepare too much.
