Nice which ones? I have a mother plant Drosera Capensis and a little propagation from it that I kept along with a Nepenthes Ventricosta.

I have a few hybrid sarracenias, a tiny nepenthes alata, and some flytraps.

Do you keep the flytraps indoors? How do you get the dormant period if so?

I keep them and the sarracenias outdoors in full sun for summer, leave them out until just after the first frost, and set them in the garage after that. They stay at about 40F in there. Then I pull them out again in spring once it’s thawed. The nepenthes is indoors year round.

Nice! All of my plants are indoor year-round, but I was thinking of getting some Sarracenias to eat some wasps for me. Have you ever grown them hydroponically?

Not personally, but Rachel O’Leary on YouTube grows them like this in her summer tubbing videos. She puts them in a net pot a floats them on her pond tubs. Tanner from SerpaDesign also does this in his naturalistic pond. He simply placed it in the waterfall and weighed the roots down with some rocks. I personally would just go with the potting method, though. It makes dormancy much easier.

It’s more the issue of water constantly surrounding the roots while dormant. This could cause issues with mold or rot.

Yup! I was scared the other day when I saw actual muscle tone in my arm. I thought it was some sort of parasite moving under the skin, when I realized I had been accidentally exercising during water changes!
