Each year for the past 11 years, my family and I have done a toy giveaway.
We buy toys all year long on sale ( original price 10$ or higher) for this.
We generally end up with 275-300 toys.
The toys are divided into 3 groups ( boys/girls/under 3).
Each toy is given a number
Once we start, each child draws a number out of the appropriate box and the toy is retrieved. While the child is waiting, they also pick out a pair of gloves/scarf/toboggan/hat, out of a tub placed by Santa.
This is both a heart breaking and wondrous experience.
For many of these children, this is the biggest toy they will get.
But to see the joy on their faces, makes it all worth while.
Many more people than are pictured are involved.
We do not accept donations and it is entirely financed by both my family by blood and family by choice.
Thanks for stopping by,
Dino Claus
